Deceleration Systems
EF-2000

CIMSA Ingenieria de Sistemas is a member of the EuroCHUTE consortium awarded with the development and production of the deceleration parachute for the EF2000 Typhoon aircraft. Substantial reductions in landing distance associated with high speed a/c, allow for the use of shorter runways which would be discarded otherwise.

Effective increase of the safety margins in landings on wet or icy conditions and on emergency landings allow to open up the alternatives in missions terminating under difficult atmospheric conditions. Initially intended for deployment only under such conditions, these braking parachutes have proved to be so effective, that currently they are included in the standard operating procedures for all landings thanks to the direct impact they have shown in the operating cost of the a/c due to the substantial reduction in tire and brake wear.

A/C braking parachutes allow substantial savings in costs along the operational life of fighter aircraft.

The a/c braking parachutes manufactured by CIMSA Ingenieria de Sistemas provide:

Reduced
- landing stopping distance.
- brake and tire wear.
- operating costs

Increased
- safety margins in an aborted take-off.
- safety margins when landing on wet or icy runways.

Higher
- resistance to jet exhaust.
