CIMSA ramair parachutes succeed in PACD 2008

Parachutes from CIMSA have again reached the target with excellent accuracy at PACD 2008 in Biscarrosse-Cazaux Military base in France. Six SPADES systems from EADS-Dutch Space equipped with parachutes from CIMSA and payload of 300kg each landed with CEP accuracy better than 30m. The systems were dropped from C-130 and C-160 carrier aircraft from US, Belgium and France Air Forces at an altitude of 9000 ft. CIMSA parachute extraction, inflation, full-open flight and flare landing sequences were successful in all cases without incident. CIMSA ram-air parachutes are designed and manufactured with advanced CFD software tools developed with the support of the Spanish MoD and the Generalitat de Cataluña local Government.
