PC-SENSOR

Within the frame of the R&D activities, CIMSA Ingenieria de Sistemas is designing and implementing the PC-SENSOR system aiming to perform real time measurements on parachute canopy and lines. The PC-SENSOR system developed in partnership with the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) from the Barcelona Polytechnic University is a wireless based data acquisition system providing dynamic and structural information of a parachute in deployment and full fly operation modes. A processing unit located in the payload collects wireless data from very small size and light weight sensors installed in the canopy and lines of the parachute. Real time data is transmitted to a ground station through Internet.

PC-SENSOR project is partly financed by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade – State Secretary for Telecommunications and Information Society and by the Generalitat de Cataluña – Innovation and Industrial Development Center.
