Preparation of a study for participating in the project Alternative Descent and Landing Technologies of a space module in Mars atmosphere. The study was performed in joint venture with other engineering companies.

The project consists in the design of a large size parachute for the descent phase under supersonic and transonic atmosphere conditions. A set of retro-rockets are then ignited and the parachute is released, leading to the inflation of a smart vented airbag cluster for the soft landing phase.

A mockup of the airbag based landing system would be manufactured and tested.
